Friday - Ms. Wiens Last Day

Update - Baby "Scarlett" was born Dec 6  - everyone is doing great.

This will be my final post for the semester. Good luck in the rest of the semester! I will miss you all.

Finished Lighting Bunsen Burners + 20 minutes to finish yesterday's textbook questions
Lab - Conductors vs Insulators - completed and handed in during class /12 marks

Any extra time was to be used completing yesterday's questions or reading p. 480-482

Wednesday

Bunsen Burner Lighting Practice Lab and Seat Work (textbook Questions and Handout)

In the lab - added to "Lab Equipment" Sheet (it was started at the beginning of the Chemistry Unit) - added Triple Beam Balance, Overflow can and catch bucket, Bunsen Burner (labelled diagram - copied from board), spark igniter, how to light the Bunsen burner (students created their own note on how to light from watching and practising the procedure), and the 3 flames of the Bunsen Burner

Get Chemistry tests signed and corrected TONIGHT if not yet done

Worksheet from today is homework for tonight

Period 1 and 4 to finish lighting Bunsen Burners tomorrow (Period 2 finished today)

Some time for textbook questions tomorrow (about 15 minutes) though if you worked well you should have completed them today in class.

Tuesday

Handed back Chemistry Unit Tests - students given time in class to complete test corrections and ask questions if they didn't understand any concepts or answers - students are to get it signed tonight
Building Circuits from Yesterday Continued and Completed (see first link "Building Circuits.pptx"
Definitions and basic difference between Series and Parallel Circuit
Note: Circuit Diagrams (using symbols)

Brief demonstrations on the general difference between Static and Current Electricity
Building Circuits - groupwork, hands on practice - to be continued tomorrow
Students were shown tests (Period 1 and 2 only - wasn't time in Period 4) and will get to bring them home tomorrow to be signed
