Hi Ms.!
In periodic table quiz when it says something larger than... "larger" mean atomic mass or atomic radii?
And is sodium explode more rapidly on water than potassium?
Thanks.

MsWiens said...

Larger refers to size and atomic radius. Look at your note on reactivity of metals to find the trend.

Ms.Wiens (or anyone else who is done the assignment), is 'G' or 'H' Boron because we dont know how to compare metals vs metaloids in terms of reactivity.
Also, can you give us a clue of wheather 'S' or 'V' is Hydrogen due to its oddball properties.

boron is I and Hydrogen is V

What is the oxidation state?

MsWiens said...

You create your own chart with a 4 period 8 group chart and the 6 inner groups will only have 3 "elements" in them.

Oxidation state is the charge that element would have as an ion.
