miss...is it better just to study the assumptions of the kinetic molecular theory of gases from the text book, than to study the kinetic molecular theory of ideal gases..because in the text book it says that the ideal gases theory ignores certain facts about real gases?

i dont get how to answer this Q: partial pressure of argon gas, making up 40% of a mixture, is 325 torr. what is the total pressure of the mixture in KPa?

L_mohamed - all formulas are based on the assumptions of the KMT. I gave you the handout explaining that the assumptions are just that - assumptions - in reality real gases do violate those assumptions to a very, very small degree. It is important to know what the assumptions are but more important to know what the formulas are and when to use them.

40% = 325 torr(101.3kPa/760 torr)
100% = ?

You can convert initially (as I did in the above example) or convert at the end.
