Q 17: Sun spots are cooler areas on the surface of the Sun that appear to be a different colour than the rest of the Sun’s surface. They are caused by disturbances in the Sun’s magnetic field and seen as a dark spots on the Sun’s surface. Solar flares are plumes of gas and charged particles that are produced by magnetic changes located near sunspots.
