ms. wiens when are you going to update the marks?

MsWiens said...

They will likely not be updated until your final marks are calculated and you will get them on your report cards.

There would be very little change in the 2-3 assignments yet to enter for term work and I have not finished marking your FSE work and won't finish until well into the exam period.

Hi Ms. Wiens, I was just reveiwing my notes for chemistry, on the isotopes, and i ran into a question that i didn't fill out. The question is "Why is chlorines atomic mass 35.49 in the periodic table?" may you please give me the answer to the question?

MsWiens said...

Cl has a mass of 35.45 u because it is a weighted average of all isotopes of chlorine found in nature.

Chlorine-35(about 75%) and chlorine-37 (about 25%).

There are actually over 20 isotopes of Cl but those are the most prevalent.
